The Sun The Sun

Poets:

If the sun talks to you, listen and converse.

The Sun The Sun

THE SUN THE SUN

Said,

You are the boy who was born

on the sun, on my skin, and

your eyes are made of lead and

granite and

were washed in water, and

you craved water and

you left me, left my surface

because you saw water in the distance.

You hit the surface of the water and

the water was loved by you.

But I protested

I said to the Sun,

Sun, everyone is dying.

I can’t see anyone that I love

or have ever loved. They are

all gone.

And

the Sun said, no, no one

is dying, you are at the bottom of the water and

it is so dark that now, you

can’t see anyone unless they are so close and

they are alive but they are not so close to

you anymore.

Because you are the boy who was

born on the Sun, you need to live

in orbit, you need to live closer to me and

that if you are in the water, because

your eyes are made of lead and

granite, you will sink, and

if you must go to the water,

you must only stay in the interface,

the place where water touches air and

because you are the boy who was born

on the Sun, you must always look up and

open your body to the Sun and

you must get as close to me as you

can.

And

I said, Sun

I will, I will, I will.
